The key to really clean holes with minimal headaches is new bits.

Otherwise, I think most people (including myself) try to rush it because it takes a long time.

New bits drill holes like butter. :ya: I have a couple new bits for this build. :lol_hitting:

Back of the tank painted. I guess I just have to plumb the thing now. That means cutting through my wall though. That makes me a little nervous.

So what are you doing with the return? I see one large hole on the Left.?

It was meant to be on the other side. I got to cutting then realized I goofed. Oh well. Shouldn't be a problem.

And yes, only one return. I don't want the return pump fighting twice the head pressure. Plus, once the water gets back in the tanks, the massive flow will make short work of dispersing it.

With a lot of help from a gentleman named BigFishy, I got the tank on the stand and we shimmed it to be very level. Couldn't have done it without his help.

Before we start, this is what the tank looked like when I got it.

After
Spot the 48" internal overflow! Spoiler, its camoflaged and you want see it without laser eyes.

Couldn't be happier with deciding to make the tank rimless and use a low profile overflow.

And for the records, this is the hand of BigFishy. Judge what you will based off of what he's holding.

I had a blast last night! Glad I was able to help.
I have to say the tank is looking awesome!! Very sexy and you really can’t see the over flow.
Cody your doing a great job!!
For the record I was forced to drink the bid[emoji12][emoji2957][emoji12]. At least that’s my story and I am sticking to it. Lol[emoji12][emoji2957][emoji12]

Glad you came by and helped me out. I need to cut holes in the walls and do plumbing but I need more bulkhead for my overflows and I'm being lazy today. Bring me some? Haha

Lol. Today turned out to be a nice day. I am too lazy as well. Threw some steaks on the pit with jalapeño pops and just grilling, tryingto decide where I am going to put my goodies I got yesterday.

That’s what I love about black backgrounds! You can’t see the internal overflow box.

I just love blue too much. I can’t get away from the blue backgrounds.

I always run a dual return to get surface agitation on both sides of the tank. That’s basically the only reason why I like them.

You guys should limit the drinks while drilling. Cody can’t even drill the right side sober. Just imagine if he’s tipsy.:lol_hitting:

BigFishy actually has the absolute best setup with two returns ran with dedicated pumps In case one goes out. I never thought of that before, and it's probably overkill, but it most certainly is the best method that I've heard of.

And no, I won't be drilling holes in my while after a couple beers haha! That's serious business! I got the bulkhead to plumb the 40 breeders tonight and then I'll cut holes in the wall tomorrow. I have to work next weekend so I get Monday off.

Lol, did you see my comment for that video.

Anyway, yeah...wish I had a similar setup with two return pumps.

Nah I didn't see it. You gonna wait until everything is done to come check out the setup? You're welcome any time.

40 breeders above the sump in the fish room plumbed. I have to put a bracket in to brace the horizontal pvc, but we should be good to go. Gonna get wet tomorrow, y'all.
