I've had them break both glass and acrylic so it doesn't matter much. You'll need a 10-29 gallon tank, line the bottom of the tank with starboard and a layer of plastic bio balls or other substrate and cover it with a deep sand bed. They tend to break tanks while they build burrows. They dig a hole, get to the bottom of the tank and try to smash their way down to make a bigger burrow, breaking the tank in the process. You'll need these protective layers to stop him from getting to the glass/acrylic. He also has to be the only animal in the tank, as they will eat anything they can get their claws on, though they generally stick with the easy meals like snails and hermits.
