I've got an aquaintance with a tank, roughly 225 gallon acrylic tank. I'm going to be building them a sump, but in talking...and examining the tank, he has some complaints about noise from when they previously had it setup.
Tank is roughly 18" front to back, 30" tall and 96" end to end.
They have an HotB overflow, maybe 5"x3"... oddly enough, it looks like at one time, it had 4 holes drilled every 16" or so, along the center line of the tank... that have been 'capped' by 'gluing' 1/2" squares over the holes.
Wondering if they might be better served by building/drilling to use an internal overflow that comes out the back...rather than the smallish HotB on they have, or perhaps finding a aqua-scape design that could allow utilization of the holes that were previously capped.
