Looking adding another Mitras module or adding their soon to be released kH Director alk monitor/doser.

My tank is an SPS dominant RedSea Reefer 350 w/ (2)Mitras 7206 today

Light upgrade
I'm getting 200-250 PAR in most of the tank now. This isn't low per se, but I'd like to be closer to 300 in most of the tank. An additional light will allow me to get higher PAR and more even distribution. I've considered adding some T5's, but honestly the hassles of bulb replacement and especially the heat concern me.

Alk monitor
I test Alk daily today, and I don't really have a consistency issue, but the stability offered by the kH Director is enticing. I control alk today using Kalk via ATO. The kH Director would be setup to only dose as a backup if alk dips.

Which would you get? Long term I see benefits to both.

And a picture, because why not

I agree, there are long-term benefits to both. I lean towards the KH director. It only takes one all dip/spike to undo years of growth but one less light won't put you in dire straights with an SPS dominant tank. You can always add that down the line.

That's a very good point. I hadn't really been considering the fail-safe aspect of the kH director.

Well it's done. I should have a kH Director come December. Christmas comes early!

Maybe I'll get motivated and modify the 8-bulb Tek T5 I have to make a hybrid fixture with the Mitras I have...

Jealous! Let us know what you think of the Director when you get it.

The testing is in interval of two hours I think? How expensive is the reagent?
