Does anyone know of any upcoming events?

We are just wrapping up Reef Currents. I hope to finish the paperwork tomorrow. I will also be starting our Board of Directors elections next week. Once we have our new board in place we will start working on events for the remainder of the year. Aside from MARSH sponsored events there was Coral Fest IV in DFW today that I'm driving home from right now. There is also talk of a local frag swap being put together by some guys off the Facebook group Houston Reef Connection. They are talking about having it in Galveston. I hope it comes together. That would be cool to have another show close.

Haven't heard any more about that frag swap. Hope it is in Galveston. Great excuse to go to the beach...

I have been hoping for a MARSH BBQ/Picnic family event in Galveston with the plan being to do some wild harvesting with the group! Fingers crossed

I can bring a frag saw and do a demonstration on fragging corals.
And if you have larger colonies that you would like to frag for the sale we can do that on the spot too.

I think to do a drive is nothing wrong with it as long they announce the swap in the general section as Marsh Guest can be welcome to and become a supporting member that day, I believe it's always done like this.
If you organize a event at a LFS/sponsor you get a lot more foot traffic in and chance on more members of course too.

Everything before June will be tough for me as I have a senior and have to do a lot of volunteering for the school.
Did already started a war when a told them that I'll be gone for RAP April 23/24

That shouldn't be an issue. Once you have the details ironed out I will add it to our events calendar, the events forum, and we can post it in the General forum so guest can see it. Since this will be your event I will assume you will contact people that sell frags to see if they will attend? That has always been our issue in the past with frag swaps. 1 or 2 people show up with coral a couple frags and 10 show up looking to buy.

It will help a lot of ppl getting rid of their TAX-return when I bring my corals

Sounds good Chris. Definitely start making a list of confirmed coral sellers/swappers. Wouldn't hurt to start an RSVP list also so we can get an estimated head count for food & drinks.
