Wow I was really surprised by this talk with Jason Fox (someone who I really admire)- it could save some of us so much headache and hundreds if not thousands in supplements especially if you are following Triton or Moonshiners program just by simply doing water changes and no other supplements...
My elegance coral detached from its skeleton few weeks ago. It’s been in my tank for the past 3 years - tank is definitely high flow possibly the cause. I moved it to an isolation box - it fully opens and very happy. My issue is if i release it - it floats due to high flow. Any suggestions???
Which type of seaweed do you use - and where do you buy it from?
I have been using this amazon brand but my tangs devour it too fast. It's definitely not cost effective. This one does not require any cutting just roll it and clip it to the two little fishies veggie mag.
So after a year and half decided to go buy some new fish....what a disaster that was.
Got a nice 2.5" regal angle and a 2" Sailfin (Desjardini) tang and both died within a week (I could not see anything externally/fish looked nice and healthy). I had them in a four ft quarantine tank with...
Anybody going to this? All the information in the flyer in case you want to take a short trip.
Im going with a few others hopefully it’s a decent show.
How many of you guys feed liquid frozen food? There is such a great variety of frozen liquid foods but dosing becomes a chore. My favorite one is oyster feast plus I can make my own recipe to feed the tank.
I'm sick and tired of walking back and forth to the kitchen fridge to get the frozen...
I really want a bay boat I was talking to @Tnconcept . Anybody selling one? Nothing giagantic something in a 20 ft range - center console.
Most famouse quote - "A boat is a hole in the water you throw money into" :lmao:
How often do you guys visit LFS? Man if I make it once a month I'm happy - I work remotely but when i'm in the office I visit FJW since it's just a mile away and on the way back go to OLA. I have noticed lots of hobbyist shop online nowadays. I still enjoy buying my new fish locally. I know...
Since it’s related to our hobby I post it here.
I renewed my electric contract -dang rate doubled in price. I know reef tanks are way more efficient nowadays with LEDs and variable speed pumps but still our tanks uses a lot of energy. I also need to change the thermostat setting on AC...
Dang I'm becoming Reefahholic @Reefahholic - a new tank build every 6 months :lmao::lmao::lmao::clap2:
J/k
I don't do much FB but saw this one on there - only fresh water tested but never used. It was ordered through Oceanlife. It's got a bunch of nice upgrades -plus it was right by the...
This guy is using some sort of rock tiles for the back of the glass - love the idea. Do you guys know if that's some special rock or he's using the regular big box store tiles.
Any of you have batter backup for your television?
I got an issue with my Samsung TV. When there is a power surge or if I unplug it - the TV has no power for hours until it reset (sometimes up to 6 hours). I called Samsung and the technician scanned the TV (it's a 4k tv) and could not find...
I feel like this hobby is getting too expensive. I think it will drive a lot of people out of the hobby.
I was in the market for another large tank but looking at the higher prices of fish/corals not sure now. Even at a higher inflationary cost I feel like there is a lack of fish and corals...
Hey Guys,
Do you know if HD or Lowe’s still sell GE Silicon safe for aquarium use. It’s been years since I used that stuff.
I have a little project I’m working on.
Just as an FYI
If you are running ro di lines outside check it for leaks few times a year.
I noticed pin hole leaks in the incoming water line. I noticed my booster pump gauge was reading 90 vs 100. So I knew something is up with the income water line. Not sure what’s causing it but you know...
