The Standalone Optic Switch System (SOSS)

I am planning on slowly releasing this guy in the coming weeks (not sure when yet). I will be doing a batch of two complete systems at a discounted final price as a first round to get a couple people's opinions on it. I'm not even sure this will sell, I just made it cause I think it's useful. This is all made by me. The board is coated for extra durability in high humidity. If you have any comments or anything at all to say about it I'll be glad to hear from you!

    More info to come soon.

That's a great point! I have asked a few people the same question, "You, as a consumer, seeing this product, what would be the price you would be willing to pay?". Obviously, there's a price where above that you'll say "I'd rather go with the FMM" or another product. I do have a pricing scheme laid out (2-3 packets of different things with different prices) but I want to see if it's realistic. As you very rightfully pointed out, it all depends on price.

So any feedback on that would be appreciated. There's no right or wrong really, you're a consumer and you know what your wallet can take.

How do you compare the quality of your optic to Tunze’s?

They're fairly similar, although I'm sure the Germans have some better quality casing. Actually the floats I use are almost identical looking to the FMM's. Mine have been absolutely reliable so far. One should always have fail safes installed anyways though. But here's the advantage in my opinion. My system does not have a proprietary connector or software or whatever. You can buy the Chinese optic switch which is used in coffee makers and other equipment and connect it (which is what I do) or if you wanted to, and you're a little skilled on electronics, you could buy a spare tunze optic sensor (if you trust them better), strip the wires, put a JST connector and connect them to my system. All optic sensors that I'm aware of use the same principals, hence they have the same wires.

But again, the Chinese sensors are like $3-$4 if you buy them from China, you can swap them out any time you see fit.

Also, it's worth noting that my product will be at a lower price point than the Tunze or the other name brands (my bare box even lower) so my solution would be for the money conscientious reefer If you want the best of the best, there's no doubt the Osmolator or the Neptune solution is the one for you. I hope my rumbling makes sense
