I heard Vibrant will help. Have you ever try it yet?

No, I started dosing nopox and was ripping out GHA with a siphon. Took months but I am GHA free now.

This is really the best way to go when you start up a tank. There are phosphates bound in the rock that will manifest as GHA as it feeds in it. If you kill it off in the tank, it breaks down and then feeds more algae. A skimmer helps but manual removal helps more.

Filter socks were clogging every 3-5 days when it was dying off. But the best thing was I used a 1/2" siphon hose into my sump. I then rubberband a clean sock onto the end in the sump, then I can siphon for hours without draining any water. The suction would pull the GHA into the hose, then I can use my thumb over the end of the hose to rip out the gha. Repeat about 4000 times over 2 months and you get it clean. Basically the first couple times I would siphon gha for an hour and then after about a week it would grow back enough to do another session. At the end it was dead and was really about sucking it out to keep it from breaking down in the tank.

Now my algae blenny looks at me wondering why I got rid of all his food! He is a GHA eating machine.
