HD VIDEO - PSXerholic's 210 Gallon Reef in "Reefcity Houston" ;-)

Current tank and status of my tank, since I never finished the built thread ;-(

The Tank is now running since almost 2 years and is mostly DIY.
Many thanks to my wife who allowed me to spend all that time and for her great support in this project, and also to all my Frag buyers out there, without them, some of the equipment upgrades wouldn’t be possible in such a short period of time.

I always get so many questions how I run and operate my system, so I will provide more details how the system is being arranged, what equipment is used and what I do and how.

People who know me, can confirm I do not hide anything and will share all the “secrets”, I do apply.
In most cases it is just too much to absorb, so the Video and this thread might help or being useful for a few fellow reefer out there ;-)

So stay tuned for future updates.

Enjoy the Video in the meantime, and watch in HD !!!

    THX a lot guys.
Unfortunately You tube and FB video software is taking off some of the colors and vibrance in some scenes but it gives a good impression overall.

Took me while to get to this level on a very compact system.

A quick System description from a technical perspective.

Need to make a Video of certain parts and pieces as well in future.

My goal was to keep the system very compact, since I do not have a dedicated Fishroom etc., since my wife didn’t want to give up her laundry ;-)

    Nothing really special here:

210Gallon ADA Tank with 2 Durso overflows (Overflows are tubed to a Co2 Scrubber)

    40 Gallon Breeder DIY Sump

30 Gallon By-pass Bio cube for Frag healing and grow out (Removed cascades and use overflow box)

    4x 250W (275) W Hamilton Technologies Cayman Sun pendants

    4x 250W (275) W Hamilton Technologies Dimmable electronic ballasts

    4x 250W Phoenix 14K bulbs

4 T5 bulbs on ATI Ballasts (Fiji Purple and Giesemann True Actinics)

    MAG 12 Main pump

MAG 9.5 Secondary pump (occasionally running)

Jebao WP60 along the tank mostly directed slightly to front glass

Jebao WP20 x2 in the back

    Lifereef Skimmer 30”

3x 200 micron mesh socks / sometimes felt socks for polishing

    UV Sterilizer 38W

    APEX Control system

Continuous Water Change system ~5-10G per day / ATO / 2,5G pressurized RODI reservoir

Co2 Scrubber (Phosban Reactor TLF 550) used as needed connected to the Durso piping and a single Aqualifter-pump that is feeding the Skimmer as needed with scrubbed air.
I use veterinary CO2 scrubbing media. See my DIY section.

The Filter Guys 75GPD RO System, add. 2x DI stage, add 1x Silicate remover stage, and recently a 6th stage with GFO since MUD supplies bad water ;-)

    HAPPY REEFING........................................... ......

Lol, filling up a tank with some frags is easy, lol.

Check out my website for a start with some classics, for very reasonable price range ;-)

So why is it empty? Comeback? Crash?
    What happened?

Massive crash...after that the tank looked like garbage and almost all fish died. I got discouraged for over a year and sold a bunch of equipment. I recently cleaned the tank up and I'm going to get back on the horse.

Oooohhhhhhhhhh, not good. What was the reason for the crash? Is the tank already cycled?

Not sure why I'm shown as a member only, something wrong with the Forum settings!
Just mentioning this to avoid PM's.
