Here is one of the articles. They are sold as 2 month supplies with all three. It does not say the expire time here...perhaps I read it on the neptune board in r2r. Terence was talking it up early this year but haven't read much lately I assume because of the delays.

Agree on alk being A#1 and would not trust it until I compare to my Hanna checker a couple dozen times over a few months.

Hmm the Alkatronic is only a little more and LOVE that regents last a year!

Thanks for the link Robert. Yeah, Terence was hot on it at the beginning of the year but has gotten suspiciously quiet. I didn't really appreciate him bashing his competition on alkalinity controllers on the forums but whatever he feels like he needs to do.

I just keep getting the distinct feeling they will take advantage of reefers on the reagent but time will tell.

Oh yeah. I have 2 bottles of Hanna reagent I'll be using plenty to compare results. Perhaps I might look into finding an alkalinity standard to run through the alkatronic just to see how accurate it is? Says its precise down to the 0.05 dKh.

"The price for a 4L bottle of the alkatronic reagent is $110, which equates to 2 tests/day for a year. For my potential 1 test/2 days, that's a 4 year supply right there."

I know the math works out to that... Do they actually advertise reagents won't expire for 4 years?

Oh I'm sure it expires way before that but at least a year since they calculated 2x/day for a year. Time will tell if it starts giving me weird readings.

I think 2 years is probably a realistic shelf life. It's just an acid (probably HCl):

The method these use was described by RHF years ago.
