Just to be clear. 1.8-2.0 ppm is for CopperSafe and Copper Power. The minimal therapeutic level is 1.5 ppm. If you have a different brand of Copper you need to know the therapeutic level or range. Cupramine is ionic and needs to run much lower at 0.4-0.5 ppm. Copper Power and CopperSafe are both chelated and run at a higher therapeutic range (1.5-2.0 mg/L or ppm).

Ohh one last thing...I forgot to tell you guys the dosage for Prazipro and what to do.

I dose 1 tsp for every 20 gallons of water. You need to do a 25-50% water change and dose again in 5-7 days. This will get any eggs that may have hatched. So “two rounds” of treatment. If you have a wrasse and he’s showing signs of poor tolerance, do a water change or run carbon to let him recover and then dose again later.

    API General Cure:

I started using this medication, because after I scoped some fish, I noticed a lot of eggs in their intestinal tracks. Plus I found Uronema internally after Extremely Heavy Treatments with multiple drugs. The parasites were basically shielded from the medications. Treating the water and treating internally are two different things.

So you mix one scoop of API General Cure with one scoop of binder to 1/2 or 1 tbsp of food and some tank water. Let it soak for at least 20 minutes or longer. Do keep in mind that this medication does contain Praziquantel so Prazipro isn’t really needed, but since I soak the food to treat internally, I also run Prazipro in the water column at some point too. This is really overkill, but I like to be safe. Honestly, I usually run Prazipro first. Then I’ll run the API second unless I suspect Uronema at the beginning. Overkill is good. :-)

As far as the scoop, you can use the same scoop that comes with the binder. Be sure to add something like Garlic Guard or Entice mixed in with the food. I’ve experienced fish not wanting to eat the food. They can smell the medication. You almost have to starve them to get them to eat it because they don’t like the smell. Soak the food good and a little bit of Reef Roids doesn’t hurt! Hehe.

I try to feed for a few weeks. Minimal 10 days.

If you do the above you can also add more transfers to increase your safety net. If done correctly, I can assure you that you will be successful and significantly reduce parasites in your display.

I QT anything and everything wet from the get go. Fish, corals, LR, down to equipments...E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!!!. This is a practice i've employed way before patronizing said fish store.

Right now i have 5 Qt with the following inhabitants - a Lemon peel, 4 YT damsels, a YT, 1 Flame angel, 4 clown fish, 3 royal gamma, 1 purple dotty. I've tried coppersafe but i think it's a bit hard on the fish as some didnt make it a couple of days into treatment.

Smart man. CopperSafe is new for me, but so far I haven’t had any issues yet. It’s been good.

If I do, I’ll report back.

I used Cupramine for years and although it was good to kill everything, it was hard on the fish.

You could be over-medicating. Slow down...

I use only seachem cupramine and have not lost a fish to disease/parasites since I started my tank oct of 2017. Sometimes too much meds is not a good thing.
