    Please help my lineatus wrasse

Hello all. Just got this beauty last week from a fellow Reefer but in the last 2 days he has an infection of some sort on his left fin.

Have no clue what it is not how to treat it or will it hopefully heal on its own. To the fishperts on this board please help!

looks too large to be some sort of fungus disease - seems like internal tissues.

kind of looks like Lymphocystis virus.

If it is, it is not curable but rarely causes the fish any permanent issues (can come & go) depending on stress level of fish.

Thanks for the replies guys. Whatever it is itís on his left fin and heís unable to flap it therefor heís swimming funny. Another board suggested that itís a bacterial infection and suggested treating him in a hospital tank with Furan 2 Kanaplex metroplex and nfg. Whatíre your thoughts?

I agree with Steveb. You could try a broad spectrum antibiotic but looks like lymphocytis to me too. I would best describe it as looking like cauliflower or a wart. If that is what it is, it will go away. My naso had one pop up on his head when I first got him and it got about the size of a pea. It eventually went away on its own leaving a tiny scar similar to an acne scar.

In fact, if it were me personally, I wouldn't treat him at all and just observe. If his fin starts to decay, then it's not Lympho. If it stays the same, that's what it is. Mine took about 2 months or so to go away.

Thatís a relief to hear if it is lymphocytis. Believe me trying to catching him and qt-Ing him is on the bottom of my want to do list. I just want to be proactive as it would suck to lose him but Iíll take your advice and observe for a few days. In the meantime I will try to get a better pic to get a more accurate diagnosis
