Are you happy with your water clarity?

Is your water as clear as youd like it to be?

If not, I may be able to help. Im not talking about running Carbon or Ozone either.

Lol... this is gonna sound crazy, but I kid you not.

For the last 2 years I switched over to “5-10 micron felt filter socks” to run Lanthanum Chloride.

After dripping into these socks I noticed my water would be crystal clear in the morning. No really...crystal clear!

I’ve heard that Lanthanum can have that affect on water, but this was not the cause.

I started dripping into my overflow without a sock in the sump because all my socks were dirty and the PO4 was 0.5 -0.8. I wanted to get it down quick and since I didn’t really have a lot of fish that were expensive... I figured I’d gamble without the socks and take a chance with the flocculant killing my fish.

To my surprise, nothing happened to the fish, but I did notice something that had me baffled. The water wasn’t clear this time. I thought...well that’s weird.

A few days later I dosed into a 10 micron sock again and boom...the water was crystal clear that morning. I’m telling you, I can run 2 cups of BRS ROX 0.8 or ROWA on a 25/G water volume and can’t achive the same clarity as I can with these “5-10 micron felt socks.”

So if you want pristine polished crystal clear water, try it out for yourself. :-)

Here’s a pic where you can see the water is pretty polished.

Yea, they are great if you don't mind changing them every other day. I run regular felt filter socks and I do good to get 4 days between changing them. I'd probably be changing daily with anything smaller. But I feed a ton too, which means I have a ton of poop in the water to filter out.
