    Bio Pellet Reactor

This one did not stop tumbling at all but have to mention it was hooked up to an eheim 1260 with a gate valve. Most people don't use the proper pump that's why it slows down tumbling-or when the screen mesh gets clogged with biopellets residue.

I used the aquamaxx XL (below) for 5 months and I cleaned the sceen mesh inside the reactor twice- I stopped running biopellets - did not see good/bad results. With biopellets I guess you have to be patient. It takes time for the bacteria to colonies.

I have a reef octopus biopellet reactor. It clog up for me too, but what i end up doing is put another screen (bought online from their website) toward the bottom of the reactor so the biopellet won't get stuck in the tube when you refill the biopellet.

This is a new design for the biopllet reactor. But it looks like it has to be used in the sump.https://www.marinedepot.com/AquaMaxx...FRISBP-vi.html

If you can find a used Reef Dynamic one, they are awesome and never clog. Even has recirulcating so you can tune your output flow independent of tumbling flow.

I had the reef octopus that had the circulation pump and then a pump on the input. I never had trouble with it and ran for a few years

I made my own like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cJXsJUdOfk I added a 90 fitting and length of vinyl hose to drain back into the tank instead of drilling all the holes on the top like in the video. It only cost me about $18 for the bio-pellets as I already had the rest of the stuff lying around. So far it's been running in my frag tank for two weeks and working perfectly. I plan on making an extra large one for the 75g once I eradicate the dinos it.
