Indonesia is shutting down its export of coral

A marine store in my general vicinity in Canada sent me an e mail today saying it ain't no joke. They also said that 95% of the coral they get are from Indonesia and the export ban is a government order. On the other hand fish and corals are still coming over here as I learnt today in Calgary. It is all about who they have as a supplier. shhhh

Happened last Thu/Fri. One agency is refusing to issue health certificates which is what allows the animals to be air freighted.

Fish are still coming from indo.

Coral/Anemones are still available from Australia and Vietnam. Not sure of the exact % from indo but it is large. Kinda sucks for the small vendors and importers in the $1k - $5k range.

Ya they sent me a big long e mail that I barely even read. I just sent a summary. Fish and corals are a lot cheaper here than where I live...I went to a few Calgary stores today cus I have basicly seen what I wanted to see...drove over 1000 km in 4 days..Alberta is awesome. 55 can. for a med very healthy yellow tang is pretty cheap these days...I asked why so cheap and he said supplier .
