    Removing Sherman RBTA

Hi all, my Sherman RBTA has split for a second time and I would like to move two of them to my nano setup with some rubble. How do I dislodge these guys with out damaging the anemone? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

If you can move the rock, that will usually make them uncomfortable because of the change in water flow and they will usually move. Then you can catch him.

You can also aim a pump at its foot and irritate it to move or shade the light out over it and it'll move too. I used to just cover it with a bunch of rocks and it would eventually move to get more light and attach to one of the new rocks. Then I just remove it with the rock.

I went ahead an placed two rocks over the nem. How long will it generally take to move? It doesnt have a ton of space to move but I've seen it jump into tighter spaces. The last thing I want to do is kill this thing.

They are pretty hard to kill... Think aiptasia of the bubbletip world. Mine used to move in a couple of weeks as long as I blocked any area that it could find to poke out and still stay in place.

An update it moved ... but not where I wanted it to move. I'm now covering that area with rock. I want it to attach to something that I can move to my nano!

A little progress is at least something in the right direction. Just keep at it and give him lots of smaller rock options to attach to so he can easily be removed. Good luck!

I use a pipette to blow water at the edge of it's foot. It will usually begin to slightly lift to which I direct the stream under the foot's edge until it begins to "unpeel" itself. Ice cubes can also be used.
