    Progress with my 125

Well Mr blue tang hypo tang is on his way out. Beautiful blue colour but hardly breathing the poor thing. I have had him for roughly 9 or 10 years. So now I want to turn a new leaf and that is to get rid of the female domino damsel I have had since Avitar was out at the big screen ... so over 8 years. I will donate her to a display tank but no guarantees she will not be a feeder. Because of the high cost of a blue tang I might get something else so I am calling around and willing to travel a bit. R.I.P.

That's a real bummer. It's tough to lose a fish after having it for so long. Hippo thangs have funny personalities too.

YA well what I did not tell you is that he was a bit roughed up from living in a tough neighbourhood. So today I called around and those blue tangs are rather pricie. I did go to the small sarnia marine store and he had 2 tomato clowns for 25 can dollars for the maiting pair so had to pick up those. He reluctantly said he would accept my domino lol. Now the fun part catching her. They are pure muscle and strong enough to re arrange big pieces of live rock. So I took out around 15 pieces of live rock while I still had the 2 tomato clowns floating in the bag. I found the female Domino but she is sick with an inflamed eye. Easy catch and ....................... I hate myself for doing that but it was quick and I think she would of killes the smaller of the 2 tomato clowns. Now the plan is to raise the tank temp over 80 f for a week then get a Dori Blue TAng. Where did the infection come from Possibly from when I got the urchant and that infection is what might of killed Dori. I only used a little bit of the water provided with the urchant.

Well raised the temp from around 77 to 81.5 over night. Maybe too high too soon or a bad water change I did use older salt just to finish off the bag of basic instant ocean or there could be a virus in my tank from the addition of additional sponges. Or I could of picked up a virus when I got my small urchant a few weeks ago..... but bad news today. Mr Yellow Tang passed today. I had him for 12 years 2 months. I am not a club member but I am a guest and might be a record for the longest anyone has kept a yellow tang or close to it. Two new clown fish are doing ok so far. R.I.P.

Ya they were both weak with increased breathing. The Domino had an infected prodruding eye... probably why he did not see the net coming for him. I thought things were slowly going south after my last partial water change very beginning of March. I will be keeping the water over 80 f for a while... I am off to Niagara falls again in late April and will probably bring a nice marine fish back home with me. Not from the store I got the urchant from but who knows what happened. R.I.P.

My hubby is up in PA through the end of April and was thinking of taking a drive out to see the falls before their job wrapped up. Is it still pretty iced up this time of year?

Is there a lfs you go to when your in that area? Man I hope your able to get things figured out in your tank before you bring anything back, are you going to let it go fallow at all while your running the high temp?

The weather this time of year is unpredictable cus of the jet stream. To see the true beauty of the falls you have to view it from the Canadian side. You need a pasport not to come to Canada but to teturn to America. Niagara Falls is one of the top tourist attractions of the world. There is lots to do there. As for low o2 that is a possibility. I added more sponges to increase my filtration but it also cut down airation. There is something wrong with my water for the Domino to have an inflamed eye. I think she was blind in that eye. Yaa it is sad to loose pets but they were old and just part of the hobby. I do not love my girlfriend of 8 years but I love my 13 year old Cockapoo. She has mange. since last summer and I have no idea how to get of them naturally.
