    Clownfish violently bickering

Just want to see if this type of behavior is "normal" for 2 juvenile clowns, a black oc, and a frostbite? The have been in the tank for a out 6 mo now with no issues. 40 breeder prams are good. Feed brine/pellet daily.

If this continues I am going to have to part with one of the two...

Any advice on managging the problem would be appreciated.

Might help to get a breeder box and separate them for a short time?

I had something similar with my 2 wyoming whites. I separated them for a time then put them back together. I was going to part with one but then one killed the other. Since then I have added other clowns and the wyoming is completely non aggressive. I still don't know why but they just couldn't be friends apparently!

I had a similar issue in our tank at the school. I used egg crate and plastic canvas and seperated them in the tank by dividing it. I partitioned off a smaller section for the agressor and let the other have the full run of the rest along with the other tank mates. Kept them seperated about 2 weeks and now they get along just fine.

Typically, they will be fine. They are just sorting out who gets to be the girl. This can look traumatic at times. Very rarely will they kill each other. Dividing them only delays this process. I would say leave them alone.

I agree, that is often the case Chris. In my circumstance, this behavior went on for nearly 2 months and the smaller clown was literally missing 80% of its fins. It was either seperate, or the smaller one was going to die.

So after separating and reintroducing they still could not get along, and in this case it appeared that the target of the aggression was going to die. Unfortunately I got rid of one. Guess it wasn't meant to be. Thanks for the advice and insight!
