I solemnly swear to finish taking out the crushed gravel bit by bit with every partial water change. I will also continue to try and get my nitrates down naturally.

Mine is to never buy anything from my local pet store again. Too many issues to trust them again. Saltwater that wasn't, a diseased fish that I caught in QT, live rock with neomeris annulata algae that has now overrun my tank.

I will drive to Dennis at FJW or Jamal at That Aquarium Place to buy anything even though they are an hour away. I will also beg them both to open up a store on this side of town every time I visit.

    1) Finish my tank cabinet so I can finally reveal it. Mainly patching, sanding, and painting.

    2) Organize all my wires... It breaks like 30 electrical codes currently and at least 4 common sense codes.

    3) Install the new sump.

    4) Glue corals down... They are just thrown up there currently in random spots.

    5) Setup my ATO reservoir and float valves and go automatic again.

    6) Add my last 3-5 fish and shutdown the QT.

    7) Host a meeting at the house.

There, its in writing. Now everyone can remind me next year of all the things I didn't accomplish and how I failed.
Dang that's a long list but definitely doable.

    Do it old friend!!!!

My list is actually pretty short:

1-Organize the wiring in the fish closet

    2-Hook up the APEX

I actually thought that was pretty reasonable for a year long span... I must be much more of a busy body than I think I am. Tank New Year Resolutions

It could be that I'm just a weird reefer. In my previous reef tank, I killed every Montipora I tried, but did fairly well with Acropora. Now it's the opposite, and I'm not sure the reason in either case.
I'm curious about your Triton test when you get it in. I run one annually to monitor trends and always like to see other's results as well. Keep us posted!

Regarding flow, I've seen fast flow and slow flow for SPS and the main difference I saw was growth form. Both seem sustainable for keeping SPS alive so I'd be surprised if its the sole reason but perhaps contributes to a larger issue that makes it inhospitable for SPS. Or lastly like you said, it could just be because you're a weird reefer. Tank New Year Resolutions

My goal is to stay in the hobby! Lol. Short term goal would be to avoid a tank crash. Let these sps fill the rocks a bit. Likely have a move coming up this year and my tank isnít the nicest ( from a glass and wood standpoint). We will likely have to do a short term rental while a home is built if we are able to go that route. In which case I will be selling everything off and being tankless for a while till we can get into a forever house...which in that case means.... new tank build!

My new years resolution is to just chill with my tank. I've been running sps in small tanks my entire career. I get things stable for a while, things are looking great, get busy at work for four days, and it hits the fan. I have a temporary 60 gallon while I set up my 130 and it's cake. What a difference the extra volume makes. With 250 gallons of volume plumbed into a 130 and a fish room? I'm gonna be on coast mode.
