    !*!*!*!*! PROTECT or BURST !*!*!*!*!*!

As we all know already we going to have a freeze coming but from insiders of two meteorologists friends of mine say temps can drop blow the 20's in the west and north part of H-town.
If you have your ATO outside make sure the little 1/8 or 1/4 tubing's are covered, put a small heater in your ATO outside or run a small pump inside, you also can drape some older style Christmas lights over it, not the LED's as these give less heat.
If you have your RODI outside or in the garage you can take the pressure off and slight unscrew your canisters also cover this with a blanket or thick towel.
Make sure you heaters in your tank are working correctly.

Any of you have a irrigation system?
If you do you want to do some DYI tomorrow.
If you don't know how to secure your irrigation here a short vid..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFLlxoTnzFY
Besides your irrigation also cover your other pipes and faucets.
If you have a broken backflow due to the freeze don't worry I have about 150 of these in my shop and we can install them for $250 each.
Earlier this year January we had a tough freeze and I went through 100 in less than a week.

Cover plants, protect cats and dogs.
    Use space heaters with caution!
I'll be in Dallas wrapping my pipes there, but travel back to Houston on news years day.

    Just one more thing.....

Keep a close eye on the wind as well.
It's blowing here in Dallas around the 20 ml/hr
This chart will tell you how it feels for you, the pets and plants.

Remember warm water freezes faster than chilled water.
It called the Mpemba effect, named after a guy some where in Tanzania.
For the scientist under us you know it has to do with the oxygen atom and hydrogen molecules.
We all know in this hobby that each water molecule exist from 1 oxygen atom and 2 hydrogen molecules, as why we see a lot in this hobby the H2O term (Hx2 and Ox1)
By heating the water that bonds from H and O act different as why some kind of chemical effect takes place, due to a relaxed bond between the two but don't ask me why as it been a while how this really is working.
