    Question Quick Question....Check Valves

    Okay guys fist is a check valve made of Kynar and Viton diapham safe for aquariums?

    Operating ranges: 0 to 50psi and -40 to +126C

    I don't want water everywhere nor do I want to kill anyone... and let's face it most of you know way more than I on this matter....

    I was gonna ask, why do you want/need a check valve?

    I do not use check valves. I assume you don’t want to flood your sump in case of a power outage. If so, place the return line so it will not draw down too much water. I’ll take pictures of mine if you like.

    What Chris said...or what i do is drill a small hole in my return line, inside my overflow box. That way, if the pumps are turned off, the line will suck air and break the siphon and it won't flood back.

    Running a HMF on my 29 planted freshwater with a power head and hose added for air. it will drain like crazy when you unplug it without one.

    Freshwater No sump. Just was thinking about investing in better quality ones than one finds at petsmart

    BRS carries check valves you can take apart and clean.
