Update on my tank and the Duncan. Well it's been a roller coaster ride with the brown jelly issues, but I want to say (with caution) that I finally have gotten past it. In the end I lost part of my frogspawn, two of three duncan colonies, one of my acan colonies, and lastly (this one hurt the most) my absolutely beautiful rainbow wall hammer that was about 6" across...

I on the advice of someone who has been in the hobby for the better part of 40 years I added an Arrow Crab going on the thought that my issues seamed to be caused by a parasite (bristle work or similar) rather than protozoan. It has been several weeks since any sign of brown jelly in the tank. All my the corals appear to be happy and show good color and polyp extension.

The ends of the polyps are sucked in due to one of my clowns attempting to host it and has been nipping at them. Normally they are fairly long and are starting to branch. Still only the two heads but both have more than tippled in size since day one.

    Tank parameters:
    Temp: 77.2
    Salinity: 1.021
    PH: 8.2
    Alk: 10
    Cal: 430
    Ammonia: 0
    Nitrites: 0
    Nitrates: .5
    Phos: .05
    Mg: 1400

Atinic only lighting - 12 hours a day
12K lighting 7 hours during atinic light cycle.

All LPS corals are target fed every other day with ReefRoids.

Salinity (1.021) is kinda low isn't it? My corals would be unhappy if my salinity is this low.

It usually sits closer to 1.024, but I had just topped it off earlier that day and it tends to dip a little. Plus I only have soft and LPS in it and they tend to not be as fickle about the salinity like SPS can be.

I may need to tender my resignation from the campaign early. I still want to donate these specimens, but we are likely going to move this year and the tank will be coming down. Any chance of getting these specimens into someone’s hands before the time is up?

Ryan and Roy will be at UA in February. Im sure we can arrange for them to pick up from you there if you can hold off a few more weeks. Otherwise I'd be happy to hold them for you.

Sorry to hear about the tank coming down and the move. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you!

    Update on the Duncan.

Color pop is way up compared to last time. I had one of my atinic LED strips go out so I upgraded to a more powerful one and I have noticed a significant increase in polyp extension and color over the past two weeks I have had in place.
