Train a friend to take care of them and have him/her come daily to check on them. At least that's what I would do.

You could also get an automatic feeder. I've never used one though.

Dependable ATO...I love being able to check in on the tank with my Apex and have auto feeder. I bag up frozen food and have a friend come over every other day and dissolve the bag of frozen food and feed (that way I know how much the fish are getting feed). When they are over I have them top off the 10 gallon ATO reservoir. I have my skimmer drain into a container with a sensor that cuts off if it gets full (which I. An via my Apex. As long as you bag the food and have someone check on it every other day you should be good.

ATO's are game changers. I just picked up a Tunze last week. I love it.

Guess I should have put what I have already for the trips I have atos on the two big tanks' but I have 2 nanos 5 and 13 gal! And I'll ask my brother if he can stop by every other day to feed! I have 2 weeks to prep! I run smart micro atos ! Should I turn of all the skimmers? 2 tanks are aios And my 65 has a in sump skimmer! Both tanks with atos have 5 gal resivors and last about 6 days and that's how long I'll be gone!
    Thank you! Happy reefing!

I would leave the skimmers on. I don't see a reason to turn them off. I would have him add some water to the reservoirs just to make sure you don't burn up the motors. Good luck and have a safe trip!

    This..........

    • Most import, in my opinion, DO NOT make any major system/equipment changes within 2+ weeks of leaving.
      • Obviously if a critical piece fails (ie. return pump) you’ll need to address it, but put off selected.

......... and here you can read more is all you need to know when planning a vacation.
Dave (dbl) and RS worked hard on this to have it all covered.
