Good post Diesel. For long trips I have a webcam in my fish room that views my top off container. When it needs a refill I can turn on via apex my RO/DI that I leave routed to it when gone. I don't like floats for top off containers and running my RO/DI so I do it that way. I use a fish sitter/dog sitter who knows to use clean hands and feeds the fish.

I use a Pro to monitor the Diesel tank and the fish room.
You spend $300 for a week but if you realize how much you've invest it's a no brainer.

I go on airplane trips a few times a year. What I do is a major partial water change a week before I go. I use an automatic feeder and set it at a low feed rate. I do bulk up the fish starting a week before I go. As in feed them extra but not enough to have food rot at the bottom. I use an extra heater but that is cus I travel when it is cool to cold and do not want my tank to go below a certain temp... say 77 f. Oh and one more thing............................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........prey
