    Modifications to my reef

After running my water too clean for years now Ive decided to run dirty. Well maybe just a little dirtier.
10 days ago shut off my second of two phosphate reactors and cut off 1 of my 2 nitrate reactors. Think
my sps are giving me thumbs up as some are really coloring up fast. My third step was to add a second
massive calcium reactor. Been adding alk daily for 6 months now. Been 3 days since new reactor start up
and hadn't added any alk. usually that would put me at 7.0 but today was 10.0. Actually had to dial down
    the bubble counters.
Had been adding 12 ounces of fuel weekly and upped it to 45 ounces weekly. Until I see my water
getting to dirty gonna keep at what Im doing.

That's awesome...your tanks are so well established with anaerobic bacteria that they consume most of the phosphates and nitrates. So yeah cutting down on a reactor slowly makes sense.

How deep is your sand bed?

Deep sandbeds almost force a system to thrive if setup right.

    Very beneficial!

What were the numbers before the changes?
