I finished the sump. It has five chambers which includes a large fuge area. The fuge area will also allow for a frag rack should I need the extra room. I put a little 2" high barrier wall in the fuge area for live sand and the return chamber is large enough to also house the media reactor. I've done 2 leak tests and flow tests to make sure I'm happy with the levels in each chamber. It's a good thing I did this because it allowed me to see that i needed to reset one of the baffles..always double check!

Next is to do the plumbing off of the DT and set the fuge and hardware in place...really would like to get this thing set and wet this weekend! My other tanks are getting a bit crowded with the frags Ive been picking up for the new tank lol!

It finally happened! After having to partially drain the tank to fix a leak and deciding to go a different route with the return pump, the tank is finally wet and cycling :-)

In the pic, you can see I originally had a Jebao DCT 6000, but decided that even at the lowest setting it was just too strong and we didnt want to have to use the valves to restrict flow so we went with an Eflex 1050. Im using a Bubble Magnus Curve skimmer, an Ice Cap 3k for flow and Reefbreeder lights (for now) that will hopefully get mounted real soon....just have to build the canopy first.

    Almost there!

Looks awesome and looks like you are on the right track. I also believe in a strong frame/foundation in most things that I do and get involved with.

Guess I'm due for an update...

The tank has been up and running for a few months now and the only thing left to build is the canopy. I'm really happy with how it has turned out, but I do have a few small "bugs" to work out.

I have a small yellow coris wrasse, small pink margin wrasse, 2 small o. clowns. 2 red firefish and 1 small yt I am fishsitting for a few more days.

My frag rack is in my fuge. Yes, i do have 2 lg media blocks in my sump, one of them is going to be moved over to my other sump on "sump clean up day".
