    Eek! I can say I honestly have not had to use Furan 2 so maybe one of our more experienced hobbyists can chime in. I do know that Furan 2 is NOT reef safe. I do wonder however if it is possible that its use contributed to a metabolic imbalance with zooxanthellae and your colonies because of other pre-existing factors??

    Furan-2 contains: alpha-lactose, nitrofurazone, furazolidone, methylene blue.

    None of those ingredients are reef safe; hard to say which one caused your palys to expel the zooxanthellae living in their tissues.

    This thread is very informative though! Since getting our new clownfish, I've been worried about what I'd do if they were to get sick.
