Measure 2x cut 1x. :thumb:

So I measured three times, cut the first hole, then noticed it's off by a few inches. Gonna repair that hole then try again. Had to work this weekend so I didn't get much done.

Dang it! Man I gotta do some cutting to. Ever tried to cut holes perfect for previously used dual return plumbing? You gotta measure the base so that the top spread where the bulkheads will connect will be nice and vertically straight. :)

Yeah I feel ya on that. My issue was a horizontal one, not vertical. I nailed vertical. The problem is that on the inside of the house, there's a pantry between the door frame that was used as a constant for both measurements. Apparently, that's what threw the measurements off.

Light canopy being built. Getting those 90 degree angles. I used wood glue, held in place with brackets, wood brads to tack, then L-brackets to hold for support.

The home depot large cut blade isn't so precise so a few cuts will be fixed by wood filler and sanding.

Sir, you need to slow down on the Saint Arnold's Christmas Ale!

Oh that little collection was about eight hours into the day. It's not a race! Having said that, I did put a brad about a quarter inch into my thumb with the finishing nailer haha! My first time ever.

Nice! I like the way the LED boxes just sit down in there on their rails - simple but effective.

Thanks! If you noticed at the tank tour, it's the same design that I used for my current tank. Couldn't be happier with it. I'm going to use a different system to float the canopy though. No wires and no legs. A friend of mine went to Hogwarts and he's gonna make it float by magic :p

Prepping to paint now.

A cat house that I built in between all this. I have left the garage door cracked with a heat lamp in the garage so the cat can get in. However, the insulated garage doors don't work if the door is cracked and my fish room is getting down to 65-68 at night. Gotta keep the garage warmer so the cat is being relocated to the back yard.

is that cat gonna use that?

It's gonna have to if it wants to keep warm. Plus, I moved her bed into the house and the house is in the garage where she has been sleeping lately. Once she gets used to being in the house, then you move the house to the new location.

What could be more clean than a gorgeous grey cat sleeping on top of that white cat house. Let me know when the grey cat is for sale sir.

Haha she is a bad ********* cat but she's not really mine to sell. She's a free cat. She showed up one day and stuck around ever since. We take care of her and she kills lizards, snakes, and squirrels. That's the arrangement.

He jokes because my wife is Asian. We only eat dogs, not cats. Get it straight, Gregg!
