So i live on the 3rd floor of an apartment complex. currently i have a 28 gal biocube in the living room and a frag tank..which is somewhere 35 to 40 gal on my kitchen floor under some sort of desk ( see my profile pic for frag tank). so i was wonder...i really need another tank..well don't need but want. I REALLY want to have an aggressive tank fish only. So something like trigger fish and my new addition the moray eel so it has to be a min of 40 gal but i prefer something like 90 gal So whats the biggest tank i could possibly put on the 3rd floor without it going through the floor and landing in the apartment below me??!!! it would go in my bedroom i think..

They hatched the night of 5/9, I got an estimated 150 to hatch. This is the first time I've tried to raise clownfish larvae, its been a bit of a learning experience! I lost most of them on days 2 and 3, but I have approx 40 left. They're going through metamorphosis right now, so I'm anxious to see how many make it through that. About half of them are showing at least a little stripe today (day 10). They grew a little slower than normal because I didn't have a heater in with them for the first few days.

Today (5/20)

Last night my 65 gallon was sputtering and spitting out bubbles into my display. So I took my RODI hose and ran it to my tank. I completely forgot about it and wake up this morning to drip, drip, drip coming through the ceiling and a very confused daughter.

I run to shut it off but apparently my husband had already found it and turned it off. I go to apologize to him and hes tells me its gonna be ok. I just need to clean it up. What a man! Anyway. Water went in the walls and its a huge mess. I have no idea how to clean up what water is there... what a mess.

I tore my tank down due to losing a battle with algae. I am selling all my rock. I have a 55gal brute full to the top, and 2 oceanic buckets full of different shapes and sizes. I would advise that the rocks be acid dipped so I am pricing low. You dont have to, but its just a suggestion.I already freshwater dipped and cleaned these and they have been in the container covered for a few months. Pickup only from my house at 77581 in pearland near 518 and telephone rd at a decent time. I will not have time to meet anyone, come pick out what you want. I will ignore any lowball pms. bring your own containers to transport. $1lb

just a few ?'s i hope i can ask in general rather than specific to my particular model (cpr bakpak for now - actually works quite nicely)
1st question is in relation to skimmer cleaning, now i've been given two different ways to do it, first to clean once a week, completely clean the cup, hot water, scrub it nice and clear (I do notice that the skimmer seems to go into overdrive an hour or two after i've cleaned the cup)
second way is to RARELY clean it, as the "slime" in the tube actually benefits the skimming process, making it more efficient (this seems impractical to me, as will be addressed in second question)
and then of course there's Swabbie for those with bucket-loads of cash.
so which do you do and which would you recommend after years of experience and also the knowledge of how it benefits different skimmers.

Second question refers to skimmate, now discussion about whether wet or dry skimming is better aside, My skimmer seems to operate in a very odd manner, it collects the thickest slimiest crud in the tube, and a really thin skimmate in the cup. after not cleaning my cup for about a month going with the no-cleaning method, the crud in the tube was so thick, nothing could actually get through to bubble over in the cup! why does my skimmer do this? Logic tells me the thick crud is too heavy to make it all the way up the tube to overflow, therefore i could lower the cup in the hope more of that crap has a shorter distance to travel and more would make it over the rim, however, logic also tells me that this will mean i will then start to skim really, really wet, my top off has a hard enough time keeping up as it is, with extra-wet skimming on top of that, i think it'd just push it over the edge!
